Dr. Kai Helge Wirth:
ART
HELGE commands not only an entirely original visual language but also the full spectrum of the Old Masters' relief tradition, employing virtuoso interplay between layering, subsidiary motifs, perspective, foreshortening, and rotation. He uses these devices to position figures and objects within an imagined spatial field, like finely tuned reservoirs of energy.

Abruptly emerging contours, delicate convex and concave silhouettes, subtly textured surfaces, and three-quarter sculptural volumes are set into dynamic dialogue. Between them, carefully calibrated tensions and proportions arise.
HAKAI immerses all of this in the fundamental bass note of bronze—at times darkened and patinated, at others lightened or illuminated. This finely balanced and distinctive tonality lends the works an unmistakably archetypal presence, opening a realm of interpretation that resonates with the aesthetic echoes of the Bronze Age.
